EW HOW GROSS IS THIS AD, Y’ALL? super gross, is how gross. like “don’t even really need to comment on its specific grossness” levels of gross, because what can i say about this ad that hasn’t been said a million times before about a million other ads? like - here we go, SING ALONG IF YOU KNOW THE WORDS, Y’ALL! - yes, it reinforces an extremely rigid standard of beauty, yes it equates women with objects, yes it more or less explicitly shames smaller-breasted women, yes it assumes that only men are looking at this ad, or only men buy cameras, or something, that they can make an ad so totally catered to straight dudes - i mean, or lesbians, i guess, but somehow i doubt they were thinking about that when considering their target audience. though what’s even grosser is that probably no one even explicitly declared men to be their target audience, because they thought “people who will buy our product” and that mental image was all-male and the thought that a woman might want to buy their product just never even crossed their minds.

this is all true, but it’s all been said before, we’ve all seen this movie, we know this song better than don’t stop believing, because sexism is many things but it is not original, it is not fresh, it is not new, so FIND A NEW SHTICK, ADVERTISERS, because this is not only extremely gross but also way old, and i am over it.
